PHILLIP BOA & THE VOODOOCLUB released 18 albums in 28 years band history. In 1984, the year of their debut, good music from Germany is an exception, especially if you take a look at the charts. From the beginning, Phillip Boa & The Voodooclub work on their very own sound with a strong ambition to bring good music to the world. Originally coming from Germany´s underground music scene, the first two full length albums "Philister" and "Aristocracie" immediately hit the No. 1 in german independent charts. In 1988, Phillip Boa & The Voodooclub make a statement in their song "Kill Your Ideals". Boa has ideals, too, but he sings "... I just wanna clean my mind ...". In 1990, after some very popular single releases, they hit No. 14 in German "mainstream" Charts with the album Hispanola. From then on, with an exceptional continuity, the band follows a thin red line between a sell-out as a popular german Pop&Rock-Band and a reinvention of Boa´s and co-singer´s Pia Lund very own vision of a unique Voodooclub-Sound. Until today, Phillip Boa & The Voodooclub release 400 songs. The songs on the album "Loyalty", released in 2012, are exactly situated on this thin red line and that is what makes the new album an original piece of timeless Phillip Boa & The Voodooclub-Art. In 2012, "Loyalty" reaches No. 13 which is the highest chart position in Voodooclub-History.
